Dr. Ghita Harifi
A Fellow at the prestigious Université de Strasbourg, one of France’s leading universities specializing in auto-immune diseases. Dr. Harifi has achieved the distinctive qualifications of a French Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in 2012 from L’Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC), Sorbonne Universités, Paris, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Interventional Rheumatology in 2010 from L’Université de Strasbourg. She exhibits great prowess and expertise in areas including, but not limited to, the diagnosis and management of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and connective tissue diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematous and Sjogren disease. Dr. Harifi is multilingual in Arabic (native speaker), French (native speaker) and English (fluent).

Awards and Recognition
Dr. Harifi is a two-time first prize winner of Université de Marrakech annual awards (2000, 2003), was ranked number one in the Moroccan Internship Competition in October 2005, was a Prize Winner in the Academic Leadership Awards in Marrakech, July 2007 and won the first national prize for “The Fight Against Pain”, the transcultural adaptation of the DN4 questionnaire in February 2009.
Expertise in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
Along with being certified in Interventional Rheumatology, Dr. Harifi is involved in hands-on medical procedures on a daily basis, including highly skilled ultrasound-guided joint and tendon injections. These injections treat a range of conditions including Tennis Elbow, Calcic Tendinopathy, DeQuervain Tenosynovitis, Trigger Finger, Trochanteric Bursitis, Articular and Tendinous knees, and Ankle and Plantar Fascia conditions.
With her extensive expertise in Musculoskeletal Ultrasounds, Dr. Harifi has led numerous teaching programs in this field in the United Arab Emirates. She consistently demonstrates and shares her expert-level knowledge through educational initiatives, serving as lecturer at Dubai Medical College from 2012-2015. She also organized the MKSAP Rheumatology tutorial: a rheumatology course for Residents and Interns of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology within the Dubai Health Authority in March-May 2013, and further excelled as the organizer, director and instructor of several Ultrasound workshops during the 2014 and 2016 Pan Arab Conferences, for the Emirates Society of Rheumatology in 2016, and as a part of the United Arab Emirates targeted initiative in Ultrasound courses in 2015 and 2016.
Dr. Harifi is an active and invaluable participant in research studies in her fields of expertise. She has conducted/participated in numerous research projects providing insight and knowledge on: “MGMT Expression as a Predictive Factor of Therapeutic Response to Temozolomide in Glomias” (Department of Clinical and Experimental Oncology with Pr. Jean-Yves Delattre, Salpêtrière’s Hospital, Laboratory INSERM U495 , Paris, France) (2003); “Cohorte ESPOIR Maroc, Survey and follow-up of Early Arthritis 1” (Co-investigator, 2008-2009); Clinical research studies “PRESERVE”, “ROC”, “JOCQUER”, and “SCLERODUC” (Rheumatology Department of Hautepierre Hospital, CHU Strasbourg, France) (Co-investigator, 2009-2011); Observational studies in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Spondylarthropathies (Investigator and Co-investigator, 2012-2016); and Publication of reviews of Different Aspects of Systemic Lupus Erythematous (2015-2016).
Dr. Harifi has written extensively throughout her career, and has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Harifi is passionate about her work and dedicates most of her time and energy to furthering the advance of medical sciences. In her spare time she also enjoys traveling and reading philosophy and literature books.
